Family Violence– including representing clients in need of protection, obtaining Protective Orders, and defending clients against false claims of violence, abuse or neglect.

Domestic Partnership – although Texas law does not currently recognize legal union between same sex partners the parties may, by agreement, enter into contracts related to the establishment of their relationships, as well as the dissolution of their relationship. The collaborative law process is tailor-made for these situations.

International Custody Disputes and Child Abduction (Hague Convention) – including aggressively pursuing the safe return of your child or defending your attempts to protect your child by opposing return to the child’s home country. Mediation – including representing clients in the mediation process (an alternative dispute resolution method utilizing a neutral third party to assist the parties in obtaining a resolution – in most cases the parties have their attorneys present to advise and assist in negotiations). Jody Johnson is also an experienced family law mediator who provides mediation services for clients and attorneys outside our firm.
